Usually, gallbladder problems are diagnosed with the help of abdominal ultrasound, endoscopic ultrasound, CT, MRI, and blood tests. Treatment for gallbladder stones involves cholecystectomy which refers to the surgical removal of the gallbladder. Laparoscopic removal of the gallbladder is the most commonly used procedure nowadays. It usually takes about 3 to 4 weeks to recover after the surgery.
